5 Restaurants to Eat at in Dunedin Florida

I love food—not in the same way a foodie loves food though. I don’t care how magnificently it’s plated or whether or not it’s infused with some exotic flavors from a far off land. What I care about are the flavors and textures and whether or not I’m not going to bug out just looking at the food. Basically, what I’m saying is if you like food with good flavor but not overly fancy, you should TOTALLY check out these 5 restaurants the next time you’re in Dunedin, Florida.

1.) Julian’s Little Italy

This restaurant is this tiny, hole in the wall place located in a strip mall on Patricia Avenue. It’s nothing fancy and most people I know who live in Dunedin don’t even know it exists because it’s tucked away in the corner, but they can do a pretty mean plate of Italian food. To date, I’ve tried their Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana, Pizza, Gnocchi, and Fettuccine Alfredo. All 4 were winners. The only downside is sometimes the service is lacking. They tend to not hire enough wait staff to keep up with how busy they can get, but then again, I’ve found that’s most restaurants in Florida.

2.) The Dunedin Smokehouse

Located right off Main Street in Dunedin, this Smokehouse is a known win. I’ve been there a handful of times and every time I’ve been there, they’ve been busy. Not so busy that you have to wait 1+ hrs for a table, but busy enough that you know they have some delicious BBQ food.

Although, oddly enough, my favorite thing on the menu is their green beans. I’m also a big fan of their Brisket and fries. (Doesn’t compare to Hoss’s Market & Rotisserie Brisket in Columbia, Missouri though, but then again I don't know if I will EVER find a restaurant that has better brisket than Hoss's!)

3.) Tony’s Pizzeria

MMMM PIZZA! *Cue Drool* I’m a self-admitted pizza junkie. Sometimes I’ll eat it with mushrooms or black olives, but when it comes down to it, I’m a classic pepperoni and cheese kind of gal. Nothing wrong with that, right? ;)

Plus, (and this is HUGE a bonus plus) this place is open until 3am on the weekends so it’s perfect for that drunken food binge.

4.) Country Boy Restaurant

Almost every time my family comes to town, we make a point to hit this place up for breakfast. I've tried a variety of different foods—I've had eggs and bacon, quesadillas, french toast, sandwiches and more. All of it was good! Plus, you don't have to order from the breakfast menu; you can order from their full menu at any time of the day. Again, this isn’t fancy and it’s located in a random strip mall, but hot-damn do they know how to make a good meal.

5.) Clear Sky Draught Haus

This restaurant is a little more well-known in comparison to the rest, and while it’s not my favorite restaurant in town, they know how to cook a pretty decent burger and steak. Be prepared for a bit of a wait though because as I said, people know about this place and it’s a hot spot for townies.

There you have it, those are 5 restaurants in Dunedin Florida that you should try the next time you're in town! I hope you like them and if you stop by, make sure to tell me what you think!
