My Favorite Personal Moments of 2019

I can’t believe the year is almost over… And wow! What a year it’s been?! A lot has happened. Some of it not-so-good, and other moments, great! Here are my favorite personal moments of 2019—in order as they happened throughout the year.

Moment #1: Ringing in the New Year in STL, Missouri

Moving out of state a few years ago made it a lot harder for me to see my friends and family on the holidays. But to ring in 2019, I made plans to go up to STL and spend the evening at Tinroof with my friends. There was lots of good music, cheap drinks, and I had a ton of fun dancing with random guys! Plus, we all got dolled up and looked amazing! It was such a great way to start 2019.

Moment #2 Gasparilla with the Girls

If you don’t live in Florida or are new to the Tampa area, you’ve probably never heard of Gasparilla. Let me fill you in…

Gasparilla is a pirate-themed “holiday” that Tampa created to celebrate there being no more pirates along the gulf coast of Florida. It’s a lot like Mardi Gras with there being a parade, beads, and lots and lots of drinking.

A group of us decided to go this year and the entertainment was endless! We had a blast and if you’re ever in Tampa around February, I recommend checking it out.

Moment #3: My Mom’s Visit in March/April

My mom recently decided that she wants to travel more and lucky for me, she’s been able to come down a few times throughout the year. We always have a blast together. We get to hit up flea markets, go to the beach, eat good food, check out bars, and just enjoy each other's company.

This time, we were able to see a dueling piano show, go out for St. Patty’s day, explore a sand art festival, and do a brunch bar crawl together. So much fun—I love spending time with her!

Moment #5: My Promotion

We’ve had a lot of big changes at my company over the past year and I take pride in working hard so when I was promoted to Digital Marketing Manager this year and given a junior to supervise, I was both thrilled and honored.

Moment #6: Photoshop World 2019 in Vegas

Even though I was working at this conference and not actually attending it, I still had a blast. I got to meet some more amazing photographers and KelbyOne members as well as spend some quality time with my coworkers.

In the evenings, we attended parties, hit up some casinos, and explored the strip. Me and my coworker John even got to eat at Mon Ami Gabi. Our boss—Scott Kelby—had recommended we get the Prime Steak Frites and boy, oh boy did the meal not disappoint. One of the yummiest meals I’ve had in a long time!

After that, we casino hopped, saw a magic show, and won at blackjack. The next morning, we even got to chill poolside.

I’m glad I was able to go!

Moment #7: Meeting Eric

I’m not usually one to be sappy, but I met this really amazing guy named Eric this year.

Technically we met a few years back and didn’t even realize it…but that's a whole other story.

Anyway, we reconnected this year and went on our first date. He took me to this delicious Italian restaurant and we had so much fun talking and getting to know each other that they had to kick us out at closing time. From there, we went to a bar and shared a few drinks until it was time to go home.

Since then, we’ve been getting into all sorts of shenanigans together.

Moment #8: Moving Apartments

To say the least, my last apartment stressed me out. Things constantly broke, my landlord wouldn’t answer my calls when they broke, the downstairs neighbor’s roach problem became my own and so much more…

With that being said, when I was finally able to move into a new apartment, it was the fresh start I desperately needed.

Moment #9: My Sister Moving to Florida

My sister is my absolute best friend. It didn’t always use to be that way. As kids, we fought all the time, but over the years we grew close and it always sucked living far away from her, but because of some wild circumstances, she and her boyfriend moved down to Florida.

We get to see each other regularly now and I have so much fun! We even got to celebrate Thanksgiving together this year which is the first time in at least 5 years!

Like I said earlier, a lot has happened in 2019. If I had to list every moment that’s made me smile, we’d be here all day.

Take a moment to reflect on the year and then share your favorite moment from 2019 with me!
